Booker T. Washington Offense Rolls To Big Victory Over Central
Coming off a close loss to Milton a few nights before, the Booker T. Washington Wildcats got back into the win column with a large victory on Thursday night. Booker T. connected for 13 hits and jumped right out with a big lead, then rolled on to a 20-3 win over the Central Jaguars. Every starter reached base for the Wildcats (7-7), and every starter also scored at least once.
Washington erupted out of the gates with 14 runs in the first inning to leave no question. The heart of the order was particularly lethal, as cleanup hitter Jaxson Messer went 4-for-4 with a double and four RBIs. Keith Robbins and Robert Sherlock each collected a hit and combined to score five runs, and Tekoah Roby was 2-for-3 with a double, an RBI and two runs.
Senior outfielder Darius Anderson also had himself a day, as he collected five RBIs. Anderson had a double and a triple for five total bases, and he also scored.
The Jaguars (3-7) managed to open the game with a 2-0 lead, before falling behind in the bottom of the first. Mikey Gaines was 1-for-2 with an RBI and Jackson Kent was 1-for-2 with a run.
Garret Jackson struck out three to earn the win on the mound. Jackson allowed two unearned runs on a hit and three walks.
