Milton’s Zach McKnight Throws No-Hitter Over Butler County
Milton’s Zach McKnight went the full seven innings without surrendering a base hit on Tuesday night, leading the way to a 6-0, complete-game shutout over Butler County, Alabama. McKnight also did not issue any walks, missing out on a perfect game only due to a pair of errors that resulted in base runners. He struck out 13 on 90 total pitches.
The offense provided plenty of support in McKnight’s gem, collecting nine hits while scoring in most innings. Brennan Vasquez led the way with a monster day at the plate, going 3-for-3 with a double, a home run and two RBIs. Jacob Coleman added a two-run home run and Justin Raley went 2-for-3 with a double and a run.
The Panthers (7-8) snapped a four-game losing streak that had dropped the club below .500 for the season. The team is still in good shape in the district, tied in the top spot of the 7A-2 standings at 2-0. A pair of contests with Niceville are coming up that will likely decide the top seed in the district.
